Today I'm getting organised for the new year: there are big plans afoot and if there's one thing I could use, it's an organised office. So far, the tidying has involved spending a fortune at an office supplies shop and creating a whole lot more mess than there was before.
I'm hopeful that by tonight, my space will be spiffy, cables neatly attached to the undersides of desk and shelves, accounts filed in appropriately labelled file boxes, cabinets and folders and research collated. The overall goal is a transformation from 'chaos theory' to 'zen office' complete with aloe vera plant. Mmm.
Before getting into that we met with my brother and family for coffee then headed to The Colombo, which is one of the many malls that have undertaken an ambitious post-quake overhaul.
I fuelled up on eggs benedict
and The Programmer got a manly pile of fried stuff.
Why do I insist on posting pics of myself without makeup and with food in my gob? I don't know. Apparently I also sit with my legs crossed under the table like this:
After that brunch I sought, and found... macarons!
There was also a green one that was the flavour of 'citrus and olive oil'. It went down way too quickly. You couldn't taste the olive oil, but the creamy part was especially smooth. These two were peach and salted caramel.
And that, my friends, is the end of the Christmas indulgences for now. It's been a fun week, and I haven't been overeating, but the daily consumption of sugar, caffeine and alcohol is beginning to do a number on my energy levels. I'm craving a basic salad, some yoga and to wake up feeling lively.
Thinking ahead to 2013, is anyone planning a new year's fitness challenge that I can jump in on? If so, link it up in the comments.
